As an editor and director, I mainly work on documentary and human interest programs that are -for me- necessary to make. Translating stories to the viewer without losing sight of the complexity is my passion. The human aspect is always at the top of the priority list. Through a poetic and empathetic approach I try to bring it out as best as possible.
Back to Rwanda - CANVAS 2019
Documentary series about the Rwandan genocide, told through five personal stories. In 2019, it was exactly 25 years after Rwandan President Habyarimana's plane was attacked and the genocide began. In 100 days, approximately 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus were brutally murdered. In 'Back to Rwanda' we see every episode portraits of people who experienced the genocide and share the same past, but experienced it from a different point of view. We always work towards a meeting or confrontation between those involved.
Back to Rwanda was nominated for an international Emmy and won the HA! van HUMO.

Meer vrouw op straat - CANVAS 2020
Sofie Lemaire introduces us to special women from our recent and less recent history. Women whose life stories need to be told because they were lost in a male history. By highlighting these women and their stories, we hope to have their names immortalized in a street or place so that they do not end up in oblivion again.

4x7 - CANVAS 2017
4x7 is a unique, weekly magazine that consists of 4 mini documentaries of 7 minutes. Every 7 minutes is an author's look at reality. The magazine takes a very personal approach to a subject and is preceded by an introduction from the maker in which he/she explains why this subject HAD to be filmed. The entirety of the four reports forms the weekly magazine, a temporary form that evaporates because the parts then merge into an online section.
